IDC Staff Training
As a IDC Staff Instructor you will be actively involded in the teaching and success of new instructor candidates. It's a rewarding step in your diving career as you to build a resume of professional dive certifications accelerating your path to PADI Course Director.
Prerequisites and Materials
If you are a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with current knowledge and skills, you are ready to begin. For reference during your course and to teach afterwards, you will need 2 evaluation slates ($50) and a CD Manual (please contact us for price, paper or digital).
Staff Instructor Course Overview
Before the IDC begins you will spend two days one on one with our Peter, our Course Director. You will update your standards, learn evaluation criteria, discuss the psychology of evaluations, and refresh your dive theory and skills.
Plan to arrive a couple of days prior to the IDC course and enjoy some diving with us, no charge. You can see the the 2010 schedule of courses here.
Once the 8 day IDC begins you will audit the course, polishing your presentation notes, and improving your evaluation skills to a consistent level as you grade the candidates teaching presentations.

- Independently teach the Assistant Instructor course
- Conduct portions of the IDC course with a CD
- Assist on IDCs furthering your qualifications towards Master Instructor
