Assistant Instructor Course

The Assistant Instructor rating is the second level of PADI professional training.  This course enables you to start teaching students inside the classroom and some specialty courses in the water.

Assistant Instructor Course Overview


This can be a four day onsite course where you will learn PADI's teaching system and how to begin working as an instructional assistant. You can also begin this course today with PADI IDC eLearning and then complete your training on site over 3 days with us in the warm tropical waters of Roatan.


As an Assistant Instructor you can:
 

  • Teach academic presentations for most PADI courses
  • Evaluate surface skills for Open Water Divers
  • Independently teach PADI's Peak Performance Bouyancy
  • Independently teach Project Aware Speciality Courses
  • Better prepare yourself to become a PADI Instructor
  • Conduct PADI Discover Scuba
     

Course prerequisites:
 

  • Be a certified diver for a minimum of 6 months

  • Have a current CPR & First Aid certification (24 months)
   
  • Have a current pro divers medical examination (12 months)
   
  • Have 60 logged dives
   
  • Be a certified PADI divemaster or equivalent

  • Course tuition is $350
  • IDC Crew Pack is $390
  • PADI Assistant Instructor application fee is $63
